Improve quality of care for the people living in and around the Lake Tanganyika basin by: –  Capturing and sharing epidemiologic data for mobilizing and deploying resources from the outside community –  Making patient information relevant and accessible to HCWs
Currently patient information is collected manually in a set of register, and it takes a lot of time to enter this manual data in to analytical format. So the foremost need to digitize this data comes in to the picture. For the most part, healthcare workers (HCWs) in the DRC have little to no tech literacy. Cell phones are rare, and most have never seen a computer before. LTFHC attempted a computer EMR solution which failed because it lacked simplicity, reliability, and value to the HCW

After prototyping some ideas in the field, LTFHC and their technology partner Timshel found a potential solution to these problems. A tablet app that redesigns the register into easy to answer questions, allows the HCW to view their register and easily find a patient’s previous visits, and generates their required reports (while giving the HCW access to all previously generated reports), which will be available to them in various language support such as English, French, and Swahili
