The Gotthard Fortress was built during World War II as part of General Guisan's redoubt strategy. While visiting the fortress, the app provides many insights into the long history of the underground facility. It contains a lot of information about the individual caverns of the historic fortress: ammunition magazines, cannons, accommodation areas and machine gun stands.
Between this part of the fortress and the adventure world runs the subterranean Metro del Sasso. Visitors to the exhibitions of the modern world of experience can indulge in permanent and temporary exhibitions related to the legendary Gotthard: mobility, energy and the myth of Gotthard.
The highlight is the giant crystals from Planggenstock. The discovery of the century is exhibited in its own atmospheric cavern.
