2018 San Francisco State University Commencement Ceremony

Your graduation is a special moment for you, your family and for San Francisco State University. We hope you will join us for your well-earned place at our 117th annual Commencement ceremony.

Commencement will be held at AT&T Park on Thursday, May 24, 2018 with the processional beginning at 5:30 p.m.

The Commencement ceremony is the University's tribute to you. It is our way of recognizing your achievement of your degree and the place you have earned among learned people. Many faculty members with whom you have studied will join me at the ceremony, as well as our Commencement speaker and other distinguished guests who will help mark the great achievements of SF State’s Class of 2018.

We are grateful to AT&T Park for partnering with us to make this a wonderful Commencement ceremony.

3:30 p.m. Ballpark opens for graduating students and guests

5:15 p.m. Marina Gates Close (graduating student entrance). All students must be in the staging area to process in. Any graduating student who is not inside the Grad Zone by 5:15 PM will not be able to take part in the procession. After 5:15 PM, enter the park through any guest entrance and ask an attendant to direct you to the graduate seating area in the Lower Box section.

5:30 p.m. Procession begins

6:30 p.m. Ceremony begins and is expected to last 2-3 hours The ceremony includes the graduating student's procession, presidential address, student speakers, the awarding of honorary degrees, conferring of degrees and the Commencement address.
