What is VVPAT Machine and how it is used?

EVM - Electronic Voting Machines
Voters use this electronic device to cast their votes. These machines do not reveal voter identity. EVM machine displays party name, candidate name and symbol along with one voting button for each party and candidate in the constituency. A voter can press the button of choice to cast vote.

VVPAT – Voter Verifiable Paper Audit Trail machines
These machines will be used during Gujarat state election process itself. They will verify and confirm that cast vote by individuals voter has gone to correct candidate. VVPAT machines will also generate a printed slip. Voters can use this printed proof to confirm the vote they have cast.
