eTIMSS participants are advised to run the eTIMSS System Check program on the tablets that will be used for eTIMSS administration. More information on the process is outlined in the “Preparing Computers and/or Tablets for eTIMSS” instructions, supplied to participating countries on November 16, 2017.
IEA’s TIMSS enables countries around the world to measure how effective they are in teaching mathematics and science. Entering into its third decade and seventh cycle of data collection, TIMSS is a well established international assessment conducted at the fourth and eighth grades every four years since 1995—the longest of any international education study. TIMSS 2019 marks the debut of eTIMSS, an electronic version of TIMSS. eTIMSS offers an engaging, interactive, and visually attractive assessment that will assess complex areas of the frameworks and increase operational efficiency in translation, assessment delivery, data entry, and scoring.
TIMSS is a project of IEA, the International Association for the Evaluation of Educational Achievement, and is directed by the TIMSS & PIRLS International Study Center at Boston College. The TIMSS software was developed by IEA Hamburg. For technical assistance, please contact the software development team at IEA Hamburg at firstname.lastname@example.org.
