Farm machinery, mechanical devices, including tractors and implements, used in farming to save labour. Farm machines include a great variety of devices with a wide range of complexity: from simple hand-held implements used since prehistoric times to the complex harvesters of modern mechanized agriculture.
Agricultural machinery is machinery used in farming or other agriculture. There are many types of such equipment, from hand tools and power tools to tractors and the countless kinds of farm implements that they tow or operate. Diverse arrays of equipment are used in both organic and nonorganic farming. Especially since the advent of mechanised agriculture, agricultural machinery is an indispensable part of how the world is fed.
With the coming of the Industrial Revolution and the development of more complicated machines, farming methods took a great leap forward. Instead of harvestinggrain by hand with a sharp blade, wheeled machines cut a continuous swath. Instead of threshing the grain by beating it with sticks, threshing machines separated the seeds from the heads and stalks. The first tractors appeared in the late 19th century. 
The operations of farming for which machines are used are diverse. For crop production they include handling of residues from previous crops; primary and secondary tillage of the soil; fertilizer distribution and application; seeding, planting, and transplanting; cultivation; pest control; harvesting; transportation; storage; premarketing processing; drainage; irrigation and erosion control; and water conservation. Livestock production, which not so long ago depended primarily on the pitchfork and scoop shovel, now uses many complicated and highly sophisticated machines for handling water, feed, bedding, and manure, as well as for the many special operations involved in producing milk and eggs.

The processes executed by the developed system include soil workability and drying off, allocation and scheduling of field operations (e.g., determination of field operations,
task time and power requirements), costing (for machines and labour) and reporting.
These processes help the decision maker in the planning and operation of a farm fleet by deciding the size of farm power needed for timely execution of the planned field operations;
the processes are based on estimating the workdays and dry off available for the field work size with respect to the constraints of prevailing climate, soil, crop type and mechanized operation and available labour. To address these planning problems, the process phase of the simulation
model simulates in detail the in-field machine activities during the operation and execution phase.In particular, the model was made to decide which field each machine should work on,
in what series, the required period of time, and the total costs of the process for an optimized machinery schedule.
