The Threedo Project (http://www.threedo.xyz), aims to provide a low cost -and easy- 3D measurement tool that transforms your iPhone into a Photogrammetry tool.
It is based on Photogrammetry and Computer Vision concepts.
Several pictures of a real life object are taken next to a checkerboard pattern (See screenshots). These images are then sent to a server where they are processed using Photogrammetry algorithms to produce precise measurements. These measurements can then become input for Parametric 3D models.
Threedo Camera's purpose is to capture images, validate them and upload them to the processing server.
The app has two capture modes: Single capture and continuous capture.
After each shot the image is analysed for suitability for measurement; and if found suitable stored in the phone waiting for upload.
Upload can then be activated from the main screen.
The flow is the following:
1 Print the reference Sheet
Place your object next to the reference sheet before scanning.
2 Capture Object
Take several pictures of the object from different angles.
3 Upload Model
Submit your model to our server processing server. Once uploaded it will be processed for measurements.
A designer will process the images for measurements
