Cute Frogie Crafts 7.1

You just can't not chuckle looking at this cute croaker. For an extra touch of fun try gluing a small round mirror behind his mouth. Rib-bit!

Materials
STYROFOAM Brand Foam
Wreath, 9" x 1-1/4" x 3/4"
Disc, 6" x 3/4"
Cone, 9" x 4"
Balls, two each: 1"; 3"
Sheet, 1" thick, scrap

Other Materials
Acrylic paints: green; black; magenta; white
Wooden dowel, 3/16", 9" length

Tools
Serrated knife
Candle stub or paraffin
Pencil
Ruler
Wooden skewers
Paintbrushes: stiff bristle; liner
Disposable palette
Water basin
Paper towels
Craft knife
Low-temp glue gun and glue sticks
Thick, white craft glue

Instructions
1. Wax serrated knife with candle stub or paraffin. Cut foam
disc in half for feet. Cut foam cone in half, cutting from tip
to base, for legs. Cut one 1" foam ball in half for pupils.

2. Using photo as guide, cut two notches into straight edge of
each foot for webbed look. Use scrap piece of foam to round
off larger end of each leg (knees).

3. Insert wooden skewers into foam balls and half-balls.
Holding skewer, use bristle brush to paint pupils black, 3"
balls white (eyes), and remaining ball (nose) magenta. Place
skewers in heavy glass or jar; let dry.

4. Paint feet, legs, and wreath body green; let dry. Use liner
brush and black to outline pieces as shown. Use handle end of
brush and white to dot knees and feet, and to add highlight
dot to upper edge of each pupil.

5. Use craft knife to cut six 1-1/2" lengths from dowel. Apply
white glue to each end of one dowel length. Insert one end of
dowel into one eye; insert opposite end into top of body.
Apply more glue where eye meets body. Repeat for other eye. Let dry.

6. In same way as eyes, glue feet to front of body; glue small
ends of legs to back of feet. Glue pupils to eyes; glue nose to body.

7. Use bristle brush and very small amount magenta to paint
round cheeks as shown.
