Whedon's Commentary on the Bible 1.12

Daniel Whedon (1808 - 1885) was born in New York state. He eventually became a professor of Ancient Languages at Wesleyan University. He studied law and had some years of pastoral experience. Later he became the editor of the Methodist Quarterly Review, a position he retained for more than twenty years. He wrote many articles for religious papers and the book, Freedom of the Will. Dr. Whedon was noted for his vigorous style in his preaching and writing. Whedon was also an important figure in the struggle between Calvinism and Arminianism.
