Australian Geology Travel Maps 2.1.6

Australian Geology Travel Maps is a phone app that operates offline in the field (ie. without a connection to the internet) and delivers interactive geology-terrain maps, old mine workings, gem, gold and metal locations, quarries and geophysical imagery. Used by prospectors, fossickers, geologists, earth science students, teachers and academics.

For prospectors working in Western Australia, there is a 'WA prospector' subscription providing a tenements live/pending map, a gold deposits map, both updated regularly with DMIRS data, a map with 2 million drill holes, and a graticular blocks map for working with 40E permit areas.

Gold maps also available for Queensland, NSW & Victoria. These include tenements, and are updated monthly.

Tap on a geology map, and information about the geology at that location is displayed. The geology, terrain, roads, rivers, lakes, towns, rural localities, contours, national parks, forestry reserves, indigenous reserves, and bush-walking tracks for the entire Australian continent are shown on the maps.

The app can talk to you as you are driving, informing you about the geology whenever there is a change. Try out this feature with a simple geology map.

In addition to simple (GA 1:1 million) geology travel maps, detailed geology maps for all states - WA (1:100k & 1:500k), NSW (varying merged scales), SA (1:100k), Qld (1:100k & 1:250k), NT (1:500k) Tas (1:25k & 1:250k), and Vic (1:50k & 1:250k) - are available, using the best available data from the state geological surveys. And only 3 clicks to download any of the 360 phone maps published by GSNSW.

Resource overlays are available for every state. Depending on the state, this includes information on the location of metals, minerals, gems, building stone and quarries.

You can download total magnetic intensity (TMI 1VD) images for all of the states, and overlay these as transparencies above the geology maps.

Download and display data layers on petroleum, mining and exploration leases and mineral deposits. These are also interactive. You can also import your own spatial data (in geoJSON format) into the app, and store tens of thousands of features on your phone, that can be retrieved for display later when you are in the field without internet access.

The app has a yearly subscription. This gives you access to 100% of the app's functionality and includes simple and detailed geology maps, aero-magnetic imagery, resources maps and mining and exploration data layers for all of Australia. On subscribing for the first time, there is an automatic 1-WEEK FREE TRIAL, giving you plenty of time to check this app out in the field before committing to a purchase. Specialist gold prospectors' maps require an additional subscription.

Subscriptions cover both your iPhone & iPad.

When in the field, please PUT YOUR PHONE INTO FLIGHT MODE. This greatly extends your phone's battery life.

Warning: iPads without SIM sockets do not have GPS hardware, so will not determine your location in the field.

• Payment will be charged to your iTunes Account at the end of the 1-week trial period, unless you cancel your subscription at least 24 hours before the trial has finished, in which case NO CHARGE IS MADE.
