Anuradha was born to ‘‘Sangeetha Kalanidhi‘‘ Prof. K.V. Naryanaswamy & Smt. Padma Narayanaswamy. Signs of her vocal talent were noticed in the family when she was 3 years old. She grew up in an atmosphere of music and her official tutelage started when she was 11 years old.

Anuradha is the 8th generation musician in her family after her father K.V. Narayanaswamy. Both Anuradha her father belong to the Sishya parampara of Saint ‘Thyagaraja‘, one of the trinity composers in carnatic music.
