The light that drives our survival and the darkness that complicates it are equally necessary in the creation of beauty. I use high contrast, scale, and also the subject of the female gaze specifically to render this. Behind each beautiful face there is a dark secret, a story of imperfection or torment that can be more engaging than the flesh.
