The app is calculating eGFR to evaluate kidney function before administration of cisplatin. It uses the 2009 CKD-EPI Creatinine equation for eGFR calculation based on the recommendation of KDIGO1
The 2009 CKD-EPI Creatinine equation determines eGFR based on plasma creatinine, age, sex, race, and a standard body surface of 1.73m2.
Plasma Creatinine input is possible in both µmol/l and mg/dl.
Together with the eGFR result, a recommendation about cisplatin use based on Ahn et al.2. is displayed. Nevertheless, always consult the local cisplatin SMPC.
