Multiplication Toolkit 3.0

The Hands-On Math: Multiplication Toolkit is a collection of interactive models that are commonly used to teach multiplication facts and concepts. Multiplication is a shorthand way of doing repeated addition and can be presented in a variety of ways.

One of the ways this app introduces multiplication is by displaying an array of objects with an associated fact. 4 × 3, for example, can be shown using an array of twelve objects arranged in four rows with three objects in each row. Presenting multiplication in this way helps children realize that multiplication is commutative. (4 × 3 = 3 × 4 )

Another way the app helps children learn to multiply is by showing the patterns produced by marking multiples on a Hundreds Chart. In addition Flash Cards and quizzes are used to help to improve speed and accuracy.
