New to Mandarin Chinese? Pinyin vs Zombies is a simple and unique game to learn and practice Mandarin Chinese pinyin tones! Beat back the zombie hordes and easily memorize the four main pinyin tones by slashing and swiping each tone's associated pitch contour.

Tap on the approaching zombie to listen to its simple Chinese word.

Swipe the correct corresponding tones to slash and destroy them before they approach:

- Swipe straight across for the high and even 1st tone
- Swipe diagonally up for the rising 2nd tone
- Swipe a "u-curve" for the distinctive tonal dipping 3rd tone
- Swipe diagonally down for the dropping 4th tone

Three difficulty levels:

Easy: Simple one syllable words, fewer and slower zombies

Intermediate: One and two syllable words. Faster and more zombies.

Hard: Only two syllable words. Fastest and most zombies!
