I love the idea of a backyard wedding on a budget not only because is it a meaningful venue, but also because you don’t have to succumb to strict rules that venues can impose on wedding venue renters. You know the ones: preferred catering lists or having to leave by a certain hour. Hosting your wedding and/or reception in your backyard means that you can really go all out and add your own personal touches. Budget becomes less of an issue when you have more control over the quality and quantity of services you are buying (i.e., FOOD). In addition, if you bribe your neighbors with some (relatively good) wine you will be able to have a stress free night and not worry about an end time. Let’s get this party started!

The Decor
Using white lanterns and white lights, alternate and string them back and forth from the house to the fence with wire. This effect will lower the sky and create a more intimate space. For the wedding alter use a wooden arbor and decorate with twigs, foliage and beautiful flowers. The arbor can then be used in your own garden after the wedding. The Food
backyard wedding on a budget mean comfort food all the way! BBQ chicken, beef, home-made Lasagne, garlic bread, coleslaw and ceasar salad. Use bunting to decorate the bar area and create a chalk board with “The Blushing Bride Drink Menu” written on it. Tell your guests about the drink special. Perhaps a refreshing Raspberry Limoncello Sangria Recipe, wine and beer, or and a bucket filled with ice and soda so guests can serve themselves.
