দন্ডবিধি থেকে অপরাধ এবং অপরাধের শাস্তি সম্পর্কে জানা যায়। মোট ৫১১টি ধারা আছে দন্ডবিধিতে, এসব ধারাগুলোর অনেকগুলোর আবার উপধারা আছে। ধারাগুলোর কোনটিতে অপরাধের বর্ণনা বা সংজ্ঞা দেয়া হয়েছে আবার কোনটিতে অপরাধের শাস্তির পরিমাণ বর্ণিত হয়েছে। ১৮৬০ সালে প্রথম ভারতীয় দন্ডবিধি প্রবর্তিত হয়। দন্ডবিধিকে একটি দেশের মৌলিক আইন বলা হয়ে থাকে।

We have made this because we felt there should be a Penal Code in Bengali Language in internet world so that common people of Bangladesh can understand their law in Bangla. But unfortunately we did not get any Bangla book of Penal Code. So we have tried to make this App. we wish we will make a blog about Law of Bangladesh in Bangla Language very soon and I will publish it there.
