TWENTY ØNE PILØTS) is an American duo music group from Columbus, Ohio.
The band was formed in 2009 in Columbus, Ohio by college friends Tyler Joseph, Nick Thomas and Chris Salih.
On December 29, 2009, they released their debut, self-titled album, Twenty One Pilots, and began touring Ohio.
In 2010, the band released two songs officially released to their SoundCloud account. This includes the original spin-off "Time to Say Goodbye" by Andrea Bocelli and Sarah Brightman, and a cover from "Jar of Hearts" by Christina Perri.
Their second album, Regional at Best, was released July 8, 2011 with a new formation consisting of only Tyler and Josh. This album is accompanied by a free show release CD at the New Albany High School field. In November 2011, their shows were sold out in Columbus 'Newport Music Hall', which attracted a record of a dozen labels.
